300 Visa

The 300 Visa is also known as Partner Visa (Subclass 300) or Prospective Marriage or Fiancé Visa.

This visa lets you come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse and then apply for a Subclass 820 visa.

It allows for a stay of 9 months from date of grant of visa. By then, you should be married and apply for an 820 visa if you intend to stay in Australia.

Your prospective spouse must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

This visa leads to Permanent Residency.

It’s important to note that you can also run a business if you hold a 300 Visa, since you can apply for an ABN.

You can also buy a house, as long as you, the person on the 300 Visa, buys the property together with an Australian citizen.

Holders of a 300 Visa may be eligible to apply for Centrelink for a range of benefits including Family Tax Benefit, Parental Leave Pay, and Low Income Health Care Card.

To be eligible for a 300 Visa you must be outside of Australia when lodging an application and also when the decision is made.

You need evidence that you’ve met face to face – shown by pictures.
