The Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) (subclass 188) Visa allows a Holder to own and manager a business in Australia, conduct business and investment activity in Australia or undertake an entrepreneurial activity in Australia.
The 5 different Streams are as follows:
1. Business Innovation Stream
This provisional visa is for people with business skills. It lets them operate a new or existing business in Australia. They must be nominated by an Australian State or Territory Government agency.
2. Investor Stream
This provisional visa requires the Holder to invest at least AUD 1.5 Million in an Australian State or Territory and maintain business or investment activity in Australia. They must be nominated by an Australian State or Territory Government agency.
3. Significant Investor Stream
This provisional visa requires the Holder to invest at least AUD 5 Million in Australian investments that meet certain requirements and maintain investment activity in Australia. They must be nominated by an Australian State or Territory Government agency or Austrade.
4. Premium Investor Stream
This provisional visa is for Holders who are nominated by Austrade and who invest at least AUD15 million in Australian investments and/or philanthropic contributions.
5. Entrepreneur Stream
This provisional visa lets a Holder carry out entrepreneurial activities in Australia. They must have a funding agreement with a third party to carry out entrepreneurial activities and be nominated by an Australian State or Territory Government agency or Austrade.
