Provisional Business Visas
Subclass 188A - Business Innovation Stream Visa
A provisional visa for those who have successful business career or investor from overseas and who wants to establish, develop and manage a new or existing business in Australia. You must be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency, before being invited to apply for this visa.
Subclass 188C - Significant Investor Stream (SIV) (Provisional) Visa
To be granted this visa, you must make (on or after the time of application for this visa), a complying significant investment of at least AUD5 million when you are invited and have a genuine intention to hold that investment for at least 4 years.
PERMANENT BUSINESS VISAS
Subclass 888A - Business Innovation Stream (Permanent) Visa
This is a permanent visa and you will be eligible if you hold 188A visa in the business innovation stream, subclass 444 visa or certain holders of subclass 457 visa and must be able to show ongoing business involvement and have an annual business turnover of AUD300,000.
Subclass 888B - Investor Stream (Permanent) Visa
This visa allows you to stay permanently and you must have held AUD1.5 million in an Australia for at least 4 years during the provisional 188B visa and meet the residence requirement. You don’t need to apply for an expression of interest, but the state or territory needs to confirm your nomination is still current.
SUBCLASS 132 – BUSINESS TALENT (PERMANENT) VISA
You must have overall successful business career and you must have ownership interest of at least AUD 400,000 in a business and have net assets worth AUD 1.5 million available for transfer to Australia within 2 years and have annual turnover of AUD 3 million.
Subclass 132 - Venture Capital Entrepreneur Stream
Subclass 132 - Venture Capital Entrepreneur Stream This visa is for people who have sourced venture capital funding from a member of the Australian Investment Council (AIC) (formerly known as the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Limited (AVCAL)).

The Business Innovation and Investment (188) visa is a Provision visa, whereas the Business Innovation and Investment (888) visa is a Permanent Visa.
There are 5 different Streams: The Business Innovation Stream, the Investor Stream, the Significant Investor Stream, the Premium Investor Stream and the Entrepreneur Stream. All Streams have different eligibility requirements.
You can meet the English language requirement by achieving an overall score of 5 in IELTS (with minimum 5 in each component) to prove Vocational English while an overall score of 7 (with minimum 7 in each component) to prove Proficient English.
There is no other option to apply for a significant investor visa. Since it is a government nominated program, you must be nominated by the State or territory government or Austrade to apply.
Holders of permanent residency business visas (subclass 132 or 888) are eligible to apply for Australian Citizenship once certain requirements have been met.
This is a permanent visa designed for high calibre business people who are owners or part owners of an overseas business and have a genuine and realistic commitment to participate in the management of a new or existing business in Australia.
